Long Time No Blog
Hello, sorry I've not blogged in such a long time. I am going to try and update periodically again. The main reason for this is that we FINALLY bought a computer for home! Yay! I don't have to rely on my work computer for everything anymore. I really like the computer we ended up with. It's an HP and the monitor is HUGE! Anyway - I hope everyone had a happy Valentines Day! I did. This is what I got: Canon Digital Rebel Xsi. I am very excited about it. It is actually a Valentine's/Bday present (I have a feeling he will usually combine those two since it is so close together) but that's okay. I currently have a sony cybershot that I got about 3 years ago. It works fine but strangely broke down on Christmas day (and promptly restarted that day AFTER Christmas) which got us talking about getting a better camera for when we have kids. I didn't expect to get one this soon...since we don't plan to have kids for at least a year or two, so it is exciting. We will still keep our smaller one for traveling, etc when we don't want to lug a big ole camera around, but the other one will be for special occasions. It should take really great pictures! Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to play with it because he finally purchased it on Feb 13 from a local camera shop and then right before giving it to me yesterday, he researched the camera on Amazon and found it $150 cheaper there. So we are returning the one I got and ordering the one off of Amazon. :( I'm all for instant gratification so that does not make me happy. I am for saving $150 though so I guess I'll live. For dinner last night we went to James at the Mill using a gift certificate my Dad had given us for Christmas. It was very good. I had the Mill salad, the filet, and warm chocolate cake for dessert!
So...I guess I should put something about food in here since this is in part a food blog. Today - I plan to make this chili recipe - which is my old standby. I really like it. For dessert we are having no bake oatmeal cookies. I am basically using this recipe but I cut out the butter and cut back on the sugar. For the peanut butter, we use simply jiff - which has much less sugar. I also made myself a small batch substituting agave for the sugar. I guess I didn't use enough because they are not very sweet at all, but I still like them! Check this picture out. On the front of our car we have a "house divided" license plate that is half TN, half AR. In the WM parking lot yesterday someone with the EXACT same license plate parked next to us. What are the chances??
Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!

I'm shocked to see a new blog. I thought you had given up on it. I'm so glad you didn't. I'm also pretty jealous about the camera. I want one. Someday.
I can relate to having to do all computer/internet functions at work. My internet will be hooked up today at the house and I'm very excited. The blessed cable comes Thursday.
Oh and I need Anita's address from one of you when you have time. I love oatmeal cookies but have no idea if I could even get agave? here. Knowing me, I'll prob use sugar.
I LOVE my Canon Rebel Digital!!! I lug it around with me a lot, but still like to fall back on my smaller Kodak Digital when travelling. I've taken a lot of great shots with both!! Congratulations!!! You will love it!
